As part of an awareness campaign, AMO launched a new website along with a series of digital and print ads placed in newspapers.
The intent was to start a discussion about what a modern provincial-municipal partnership should look like in the coming years to foster a better quality of life for Ontarians and to increase opportunities for growth.

AMO is a non-partisan entity and isn’t singling out any particular provincial government, noting that provincial challenges caused by the rising cost of living, a lack of affordable housing, homelessness, and public safety are the result of decades of provincial underinvestment and inaction.
The campaign focused on three factors that can improve quality of life and community well being: ending homelessness; investing in Local infrastructure to meet demand; and ensuring property tax dollars aren’t needed to subsidize underfunded provincial responsibilities.

For example, AMO conducted a homelessness study that found an $11 billion investment from the province over the next 10 years could end chronic homelessness, while an immediate $2 billion would largely eliminate encampments.
Currently there are more than 80,000 Ontarians who experienced homelessness in the last year, with 1,400 encampments in public spaces.
