WESTERN ENGLISH LANGUAGE CENTRE - Brand identity design, UI/UX design, demographic research
WESTERN ENGLISH LANGUAGE CENTRE
THE CLIENT
Western University’s English as a Second Language program.
CHALLENGE

Work within a non-responsive CMS framework to design something that works well on mobile devices. Not an ideal situation.

INSIGHT

Western English Language Centre or “WELC” students have recently finished high school and are looking at the next step in their life goals. Most of them are looking at possibly moving to a new country and starting a new life.

CONCEPT

Welcome to the next step. This concept connected both with students who are finished with one chapter of their lives and with their parents, who need reassurance that they’re making the right choice for their kids.

LOGO DESIGN
By stacking the “WELC,” it not only illustrates the steps concept, but also reflects the way Asian languages read vertically. (Many of the students applying to WELC are from Asian cultures.)
WEBSITE DESIGN
Graphics that were large enough to be visible on mobile devices without utilising responsive CSS is a unique challenge.
